We arrived with our party of 7 right on time for a 7:00 reservation, for Mother's Day. Two of the party were my elderly disabled in-laws who both use walkers. Our table for 7 was still occupied, and when I finally corralled the host, he said they'd be leaving soon, just as another waiter brought some dishes of ice cream for people at that table. After waiting another 10 minutes with my elderly in-laws waiting patiently standing with their walkers (there was no place to sit), and I kept after the host, who gave one lame excuse after another. I was nearly ready to walk up to this group myself and ask them to leave, because the restaurant was very full and there was clearly no other place for a group of 7 to sit down, and my in-laws were getting tired. We were finally seated in the bar, where they pulled together three small tables for our group and quickly set it up, though there was no tablecloth, and it was noisy. Why they did nothing to move the other group on is beyond me, especially with people waiting. I can understand that sometimes people stay a bit longer than planned, but when the next party has already arrived, you don't bring the seated group more food so they'll stay longer, your bring them the check. This was ridiculous and just poor management. Because we were seated in the bar area (all hard surfaces and people coming in and out the nearby door), it was noisy and hard for my father-in-law to hear much. The food was only average, and the service was slow. Nothing stood out as even close to very good. Whether they were understaffed or had over-committed, I don't know, but the whole experience was frustrating and disappointing. Maybe out in the suburbs this passes for a good restaurant, but coming from Oakland and San Francisco, our standards are higher. If they could not take our party, they should have refused the reservation. We';; never go there again.
